Audi A3 (8P) and Audi TT (8J) Instrument Cluster Repair Service.

Most common failures typically result in completely inoperable instrument cluster (affecting/triggering the immobilizer system and prevent the vehicle from starting). Problem is typically related to the internal Microprocessor or software corruption and caused by insufficient or excessive electric current and/or voltage.

Service applies to 2008-2014 A3/S3 and TT Models.

PLEASE NOTE: When Diagnosing "possible" instrument cluster problems, please be advised that there is high probability of a problem being related to a Faulty J533 (Gateway) Module (instead of the instrument cluster being the end point module where symptoms may actually be observed/experienced). Instrument cluster receives a "power up" and "stay alive" message by CANbus from the Central Electric Module. "Power up" and "stay alive" data travels through the Gateway Module and on to the Instrument Cluster. Should there be problem with the Central Electric Module (originating wake up and stay alive message to the cluster upon ignition on) or break of communication in the Gateway, cluster will experience power up or intermittent symptoms. This behavior is "typically" observed with the onset of colder weather. Please be sure to properly diagnose the problem with "focus" on the more prevalent problem with the Gateway module. We receive overwhelming number of inquiries re cluster repair or cloning. However, in most cases the cluster isn't the problem.

In some cases where instrument cluster is deemed non repairable, the cluster will need to be replaced (and identity cloned). $200-250 additional core charge will apply.
