REMANUFACTURED Access Start Authorization J518 / Steering Lock Module (integrating the immobilizer system and steering wheel lock mechanism).

Module has been remanufacured to original/OEM specification utilizing superseded OEM componentsModule has been fully inspected and bench tested in our lab.  All commonly failing components have been replaced.

Module installation requires dealer level coding by ODIS (Offboard Diagnostic Information System) with Online Access to Audi master server (GeKo).

Coding CAN NOT be performed by Ross-Tech VCDS, AutoLogic, Autel, etc.  In some cases coding can be transferred by identity takeover from existing unit, but its limited to special programming/locksmith equipment.  Please contact us with specific questions re coding options.

Access Start Authorization Module is a part of vehicle's steering column and considered a common problem in Audi 2005-2011 A6/S6 and 2007-2015 Q7 model vehicles.  Failure often occurs due to age related wear and tear of internal moving components or compromised Microprocessor.  End result is no response from key in the ignition (or Start button) and vehicle no start.  Module (along with the Electronic Ignition Switch) is responsible for key/transponder recognition, unlocking/locking of steering wheel and powering up all modules in the vehicle. If there is an issue with any of the lock module components (actuator motor, sensing micro switches, relay) or the integrated Immobilizer system Microprocessor/PCB, the module will not provide ground to Terminal 15 (ignition on) relay.  By manufacturer standard, the module itself isn't a serviceable item and can't be purchased separately, which means that the dealership is required to replace the entire steering column along with the Access Start Authorization Module.

Cost includes a $100 core charge that will be refunded once your existing rebuild-able core is returned.
